Lord's Hill Church has been here since 1981.
We are here to glorify God, further His kingdom
and do His will in Lord's Hill and Lord's Wood.
Although we are the Anglican (Church of England) Parish Church for Lord's Hill and Lord's Wood, we welcome Christians of all denominations into our church family. At the moment, this means that our membership includes Anglicans, Methodists, Baptists, Catholics and Pentecostals. We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance.
Whatever our backgrounds, we rejoice in what we have in common:
Our love for the Lord. He is the reason that we meet together. He is the reason that our church building is here. He gives purpose to our lives and He gives us the grace to cope with the problems, pain and difficulties that we all face from time to time.
Our desire to spread His word. The focal point of our Church is not the walls or windows of our church building or the altar or any one individual (including the vicar). It is something much more real and precious: the living, loving Jesus Christ who calls us to bring others to Him.
Our desire to serve our local community - because it is in the very place that God has brought us to live that we find Jesus Christ, especially in the lonely and the lost who are often very hidden in the community around us. We want to thank Jesus for all that He has done for us over the years by sharing what He offers with those who are struggling and hurting: 'Come to me all who are weary and whose load is heavy: I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle.' (Matthew Chapter 11, 28-29)
